Company plans further expansion into NHS services following deal
One of the UK’s leading private independent providers of diagnostic services into the NHS, Preston-based Bespoke Healthcare has acquired Sandon House Clinic for an undisclosed fee.
Under the terms of the deal the company has secured the business together with an option to purchase the CQC-registered premises in Millennium City Park, Preston, which includes two state-of-the-art theatre suites, two further dedicated treatment and consulting rooms and private recovery areas, as well as all equipment.
Sandon House Clinic currently operates as a cosmetic surgery company. Founded in 2008 by Mr Peter Paterson, who leaves the business with immediate effect but retains sites in Penwortham and Lancaster, the seven strong team of practice nurses and office staff, who possess well over 80 years experience, all remain.
Plans for the site include a detailed enhancement of the surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments to include both private and NHS offerings, plus a move into investigative, operational and further diagnostic services for NHS Foundation Trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups and GPs around the North West.
Gwam Rajiah, managing director for the Bespoke Healthcare Group, said:
“Since the company first privately undertook complex diagnostic tests into the NHS in 2006 we have always delivered a reduction in healthcare costs while improving patient care. Our own operational premises was the next logical step.
With Sandon House Clinic we will not only deliver the most professional, health conscious, private cosmetic treatments in the country, we have the regional facilities and the expertise to deliver investigations, diagnostic services and operations which are tailored to the needs of the North West NHS community.
A full list of our services will be published in due course, up until when we will be notifying everyone of the change, further researching the market, and building on the quality control standards and governance that place Bespoke Healthcare, and now Sandon House Clinic, at the leading edge of the patient experience.”
Founded in 2006, Bespoke Healthcare is the leading independent provider of nerve conduction study tests and intraoperative monitoring services for the NHS. The company has seen over 50,000 patients nationwide for leading Foundation Trusts including The Walton Centre, Alder Hey and The Countess of Chester.
In July last year the company revealed it had broken the £2 million turnover for the first time for year-end to June 30, 2013. It currently employs nine full-time people and has over 10 leading neurophysiology specialists working on a consultancy basis.
